Lake Lure, N.C. — May 8, 2026 — In response to the widespread devastation caused by Hurricane Helene across Western North Carolina, Ideal Innovations, Inc. employee Patricia Lecerf Temple completed a challenging open‑water swim across Lake Lure to raise funds for recovery efforts and reassure the public that the lake remains safe and open for recreation.

On a crisp morning at Lake Lure, Temple swam the full contour of the lake’s Main Coves—an endurance route known for its length, complexity, and rugged natural shoreline. Her goal: to support local families affected by the storm and to highlight the continued health and accessibility of one of the region’s most treasured landmarks.

“Hurricane Helene left so many people facing uncertainty,” Temple said after completing the swim. “I wanted to do something visible—something that showed Lake Lure is still here for us. If my miles in the water can help raise funds and reassure the community, then every stroke was worth it.”  Temple’s initiative quickly gained support within Ideal Innovations, Inc. Employees contributed to the cause, and CEO Bob Kocher made a significant personal donation, underscoring the company’s commitment to community resilience and employee‑driven service.  “Patricia’s leadership and determination reflect the values we strive to uphold,” Kocher said. “Her Swim for Recovery demonstrates how one person’s initiative can inspire meaningful action.”

Funds raised through the Swim for Recovery initiative are being directed to local organizations assisting families displaced by Hurricane Helene, supporting rebuilding projects, and strengthening long‑term community resilience.
