On December 17, 2024, employees from Ideal Innovations, Inc. (I³) — including Rebecca Perlman, Senior Vice President of Forensics, Derrick Spearman, Vice President of Security and Logistics and Carol Battle, Senior Human Resources Generalist — volunteered at Hoffman Boston Elementary School’s Family Science Night.

Ideal Innovations, Inc. staffed the event’s forensics station, giving students hands‑on opportunities to explore fingerprinting, evidence analysis and other real‑world applications of forensic science. These activities helped spark curiosity and demonstrated how STEM skills translate into meaningful careers.

Community outreach is a core part of I³’s identity and mission. The company believes that investing time, expertise and enthusiasm into local schools is not only a responsibility but a privilege. By showing up in person, sharing their knowledge and creating memorable learning experiences, I³ employees help demystify complex scientific concepts and make STEM feel accessible to every student — especially those who may be discovering these fields for the first time.

STEM education is also directly connected to I³’s core business areas of forensics, biometrics and identity management. The company’s work relies on scientific rigor, analytical thinking and technological innovation — the very skills students begin developing through early exposure to STEM. By engaging young learners in activities like fingerprint analysis and evidence evaluation, I³ demonstrates how foundational STEM concepts evolve into advanced capabilities used to solve real‑world challenges in national security, public safety and identity protection. Encouraging students to explore these fields helps build a future workforce equipped to advance the technologies and methodologies that define I³’s mission.

I³ views events like Family Science Night as essential opportunities to inspire young learners, strengthen local partnerships and support the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators. These engagements reflect the company’s long‑standing commitment to giving back, fostering educational equity and building a stronger, more STEM‑literate community. By engaging directly with students and families, I³ reinforces its dedication to advancing STEM education and ensuring that curiosity, creativity and opportunity continue to thrive in the communities it proudly serves.
