Description The primary duties and responsibilities of the Database Administrator/Analyst (DBA) consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
• Maintenance and administration of Microsoft SQL Server databases
• Training and mentoring local national DBA’s
• Performs all aspect of database administration including testing of all modifications, security administration, optimization, capacity planning, performance tuning
• Development, enhancements and support of database applications
• Development and administration of stored procedures, triggers, views and functions
• Data extraction and import
• Assist in data reporting
• Designing, testing, implementing, maintaining and controlling the relational and object-oriented databases across multiple platforms and computing environments
• Automating manual processes
• Implement process improvements
• Develop ad-hoc reports and other applications using Microsoft SQL Server, .NET, and other programming tools
• Troubleshoot data issues
• Validate result sets
• Analyze data
• System quality assurance and consistency with installation, security policy compliance and standards
• Develop data architectures and database management policies and standards as required
• Identification and resolution of data issues
Requirements Required Qualifications:
• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, information technology or related field – OR Experience: 8 + years of database administration experience including expert understanding of Microsoft SQL Server

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with Oracle
• Proven disaster/recovery expertise via backup/restore methodology
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to understand complex relationships between components of multi-tiered and distributed applications
• Leadership qualities and strong procedural and architectural documentation skills with related tools such as Visio and demonstrated technical mentoring capabilities
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management
• Experience with any source control software application
• Highly experienced with SSRS, SSMS, SSIS and Visual Studio
• Experience with programming languages such as C#, .Net, or PHP
• Working technical knowledge of database design, administration and development
• Understanding of database security and knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
Additional Requirements:
• Be eligible and willing to carry government issued firearm
Physical Job Requirements
Must be able to meet the following physical demands: Government requirements for medical fitness. Work approximately 8 hours per day, six days a week for extended periods of time. Attend pre-deployment training at the CONUS Replacement Center (CRC). Lift 70 lbs. to a working height of 48 inches. General office and laboratory duties/functions.
